Not a furry, but I love your artistic choices and like the paint style! Kudos for going with strong colour. Brave choice.

4/5 because we're all improving :). I see what you intend, and it's really interesting.

How did you achieve the fur? Did you stroke each line, or use a texture brush?

Only critique is the cyan outlines on nails & spikes. I don't know this style, but I feel like a different colour of line would have helped. Perhaps I'm wrong? But I tried a quick re-colour using the purples/blues of your background and it "felt better" somehow. Maybe this is not what you intend, just offering.

Anyway -- you're reaching a non-furry -- that's impressive :). Good job!

Thank you! I'm glad I reached more people and am getting some constructive feedback! When I color a sketch (or lineart, really), I usually just use the colors on a character's reference sheet (or whatever reference I have of their normal colors). Shading, gradient maps, and randomized color jitter in the brush settings get me to the finalized color scheme of a piece. Say, if the colors of a piece seem all over the place, overlays and gradients can bring them together and seem less out of place.

I utilized a textured brush for the fur and hair. Doing it with the brushes is hard enough, I can hardly imagine painting individual strands. Using CSP's timelapse feature for painting with this many strokes inflates the file size enough too haha.

Yeah, I agree, I could've done the claws and spikes better. I just didn't really know how to correctly execute them when they are supposed to be blue on the outside but purple on the inside. Perhaps I should do some little material studies on crystals, transparent materials, and claws.

You recently decided to dump criticism of "anatomy" on another artist who is doing an equally good job as you. I've looked at your images. It's clear you aren't capable of providing this criticism. I can't stand it when people punch above their weight in order to be shitty, so here is specific advice on how to improve:

- Where is the neck?
- Where is the torso?
- I don't believe your claws, at all.
- Legs have volume. Where is the indication of a shin? How do you hide the shin?
- Teeth simply don't look like this.
- Hair is not a single colour, ever, even in bare-bones modern anime style.

Do you get it? Your character might be fine, if you intend cartoons, but a "fundamentals" lesson is not the sort of thing you are qualified to recommend to other people. And with this, I will ignore you until you improve and leave you be. HELP your fellow artists. SHARE resources. If you just want to be shitty, hey bud, I can do that too! But I can at least tell you what's off.

I am also a huge fan of Deus Ex (play it yearly ;)) and immediately saw what you are going for! On my profile I have a relatively SFW Anna Navarre in a precarious position, lol.

4/5 because I can read this easily but we're all improving =D. I'm not a fan of comics, but your style hits me anyway with this image -- this is really hard to do with people who aren't anime fans, so you can take this feedback however you want, but I suggest this is a good path :). If you've impressed someone who runs away from anime, you've succeeded on many levels.

- The reflection seems like it tested you?
- Flat colours work well here, but perhaps altering the the sky to show light rays could help you add more complex colour?
- I don't believe the energy katana in relation to the rest of the image

Thanks! I really like the story of IW and I really wish Alex got more love. I've been experimenting around and an early 2000s anime just fit him :> The reflections/water was REALLLLLY tough, I'll defo take the light rays in mind~! Any ideas on how I could improve the energy sword? :3c
